The Message Of Jesus In The Context Of The 21st Century

To begin with, I want to say that I don’t take the bible literally, I don’t even call myself a Christian, but I do respect Jesus as a man for a number of reasons.

In the trying times we find ourselves in today, I think it’s important to remind people, particularly religious people what Jesus was actually saying.

I AM!

He talked of love, peace, forgiveness, doing good works, he was saying you shouldn’t stone women to death for sleeping around, don’t hang men on crosses for saying two words, don’t be a hypocrite, stuff like that.

He turned over the money tables of the leaders of the day and called them out for their various problems, but even as they had tortured him to death, he still said, at least in theory, “Forgive them father, for they know not what they do.”

Religion bothers me, particularly every other aspect of Christianity and the church other than what Jesus said himself, and even some of the things Jesus said.

For example, you might have some trouble following his commandments when he said everyone is a sinner, and then if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off.

You see what I mean there? It’s slightly contradictory, and once you only had one hand left, you’d have trouble cutting off the rest of your limbs if they caused you to sin.

I am the way, the truth and the light.

The point he was making was you should try to forgive people, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, judge not lest ye be judged yourself, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, etc.

Now, I’ve been going on about a bunch of psychopathic lunatics who I have called legitimate Satanists, although I don’t really believe in the devil either.

I think that everyone has good and bad in them, and labelling an entire group of people evil is perhaps wrong, like Hitler was not a good guy for exterminating the Jews, no matter what some of them might have done. He wasn’t an angel himself.

It is not righteous to seek out pedophiles to slowly torture to death, it is not righteous to hold onto hatred and anger and let it eat away at your soul until it destroys you.

That is why I have posted this video of the words of Jesus, for religious and non religious alike, to try to promote peace and not war, although my actual belief is that we are in world war three already, whether we like it or not.

Nobody said that life would be easy, nobody said that everyone was or even could be all good, but you can try to be good, even on the battlefield you can show mercy and love your enemy.

“It is finished.”
