The first thing to establish is this isn’t a UFO conspiracy theory, it’s all over the media that the Pentagon have confirmed the existence of triangular shaped UFOs spotted “swarming” a US Navy vessel in 2019.
There have been suggestions that if the US military doesn’t know what it is, and it can do things far ahead of their own technology, it could be extra terrestrials, but it could be another country, exhibiting advanced capabilities nobody thought they had.
The images first appeared on Mystery Wire, a site dedicated to exploring UFOs, and other unexplained phenomena, and they were quite surprised I would imagine when the Pentagon confirmed their claim and released the videos to the public.

“As we have said before, to maintain operations security and to avoid disclosing information that may be useful to potential adversaries, DOD does not discuss publicly the details of either the observations or the examinations of reported incursions into our training ranges or designated airspace, including those incursions initially designated as [Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.]”
“After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems,” said Gough in a statement, “and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”

The admission confirms two things, that there are indeed unidentified flying objects, and also that they were keeping it quiet in the past, perhaps still keeping much of it classified, but now seek to gain more information by making it public.
Former Navy Commander Dave Fravor said he pursued similar UFOs in 2004 in the same area, and he explains why he thinks the Pentagon are going public with these stories now.

“We haven’t been attacked or anything like that,” Fravor said. “But I look at it for two reasons. One, if there’s a capability, we can’t explain it. Number two, if you can explain it, then you can literally change everything that we do.”
“As I got close to it, it rapidly accelerated to the south, and disappeared in less than two seconds.”
“This was extremely abrupt, like a ping pong ball, bouncing off a wall. It would hit and go the other way.”
Navy Commander Dave Favor

The establishment of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force happened in August 2020, there are a list of objectives they probably want to accomplish, which is basically to make sure that whoever it is isn’t going to pose a threat, or to learn more about it if they are.
In July 2020, Senator Rubio stated that he was worried that an adversary country had achieved “some technological leap” that “allows them to conduct this sort of activity,” while also saying that there might be a conventional explanation that was “boring”.

I have friends who say they saw UFOs, and this isn’t necessarily proof of aliens, but the technology that they said they saw, which was partially confirmed by the Pentagon was beyond anything we’ve seen from aircrafts and drones currently being used in wars.
It could legitimately be aliens, it’s unlikely, but there have been so many sightings it has to be something. No matter what it is, it makes no sense to hide it from the public anymore, and it is officially confirmed that UFOs do exist.
